Heather Bastedo’s career in polling began under the guidance of leadership at Angus Reid. She built polls that provided strategic advice on multiple public affairs projects. She has extensive expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research design and execution.
Currently, Heather focusses on market segmentation and SWOT analysis, along with message testing. Most recently she has built multi-stage polls for the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour working closely with Campaign Gears creative team to develop messaging for a third party campaign during the 2015 Saskatchewan provincial election.
She is currently developing methodology and survey technologies to create intentional feedback opportunities for organizations’ key supporters and members. Her tools are easy to integrate into organizations of any size and will provide a key point of reflection and goal setting for unions, movements, and non-profits.
She holds a Ph.D. and MA in Political Science from the University of Toronto, where she specialized in political psychology and motivation, dedicating much of that time to research focused on political and youth engagement.
Heather serves as a founding director on the board of Canadian Association for Public Opinion Research.
